Basic Signs
Many sign applications just call for a basic sign. Their goal is permenance amd cost effectiveness.
We can put these signs in three basic catagories. The first being a sign that gets attached to the wall. The second is a sign that gets bolted to a post like a parking sign or site sign. The last is a box sign or "can" that has the pole hidden inside. A few trade names apply to these signs: belt signs, site signs, and a box or can sign.
The belt sign in an alluminum sheet wrapped around a 1" square aluminum frame. These signs are light and can be made quite large, i.e. 4' x 20'.
A site sign is usually made from MDO, a composite wood material that gets painted. These signs are most often used for construction sites, attached to poles in the ground. While there are quite a few other variations (aluminum clad wood, shaped MDO) they incure additonal costs and are not the inexpensive variety.
An aluminum box sign or "can" is a constructed hollow, lightweight box that is made to accept a pole. These signs are from 3" to 6" thick and have one or two poles. They make for a very permenant sign that is inexpensive.
These basic signs are mostly about the construction technique. While these techniques are used as ways of keeping costs down, often a very custom look can be achieved with only a small increase in cost. Call us for help in deciding what sign may work best for you.
